Do you know how to get the Pits gem? I havebeaten the whole game (25 Crystals, 42 Gems) soyou should take tips from me.
When you are in ThePits and the level splits, go left (I find thisthe easiest way). Kill all the enemies all theway so this would be easier. Go all the way tothe end of the left part and get all the boxesand once the level isnt split anymore, go backthe way you came. Once you get all the way backto when the level splits go right. Finish thelevel regularly and you should have the gem atthe end. Go to the level HANGIN' OUT.
(Warp-pad 4) Afteryou've gotton past the first 2 parts where youare hanging on avoiding those mine-thingys, youshould fall through a hole into some eel-lesswater. If you go 'towards' the screen insteadof 'away' from it you will fall through anotherpit and now you have to do that hangin' thingagain axcept now lava is under you and the mine-thingys go A LOT faster. Get through the hangin'thing and when Crash's feet touch the groundafter getting through the hangin' thing you willbe transported to the secret warp-pad. You willnow be able to do the secret level: LEVEL 27:TOTALLY FLY.
(Hint - Press O to dodge the mine-thingys when they come at you while you arehangin' because these mine-thingys go lower thanthe normal ones ond O makes Crash's legs stopdangling). You should see the red gem on Snow Go butyou can't get it then. Go to Air Crash on thesecond warp room.

Start the stage. Instead ofjumping on the first jet-ski, use the floatingboxes as stepping stones to get across thewater and onto the platform on the right. Youwill be transported to the secret warp room.Walk through the Snow Go warp gate and youfind yourself in the hidden part of that level. Goto the right of the screen and use a spin attackto kill the seal. Slide up the icy sloope, takingcare to avoid the porcupine. Kill the spinningpenguin then avoid three more porcupineswhile jumping across three pits.
Bounce offthe seal and grab the two extra lives. Keepgoing to the right of the screen past the frameboxes, until you reach an exclamation box.Spin it and all the empty frames becomecrates.
Bounce on the bounce boxes to getacross the huge pit below, collecting wumpafruit as you do so. Carefully make your wayaround this group of nitro boxes. Touch oneand Crash is dead! So be careful.
Continue tothe right of the screen. When you reach the farright, jump down the hole. At the end of thehole you will see the red gem and you will getit. At the bottom you will find yourself at SnowGo.

Using the powers of her computer, she warns the adventurous bandicoot of any upcoming hazards and/or traps. Thanks to Crash Bandicoot, the world was a seemingly safe place again. Neo Cortex had been defeated; his body confined to a realm of infinity and terminal velocity. Unfortunately, the mad doctor crash-landed into an unknown world full of mysterious crystals. After running some tests, he deduced that they held tremendous power, but something was severely wrong. It turns out that the crystals keep the world balanced; but some are missing and will soon cause the planets to align. When this happens, there will be a chaotic flux in the galaxy that will do much more damage than it will good. In an attempt to save the world Dr. Neo Cortex decides to create a Cortex Vortex that will, in theory, prevent this catastrophe from happening.Surprisingly, he calls upon his arch-nemesis Crash Bandicoot to help him collect 25 crystals for the vortex device.
Whether or not this is a carefully hatched scheme to lure the bandicoot in a trap remains to be seen.Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back also supports analog controllers and the standard digital pad. A new slide move has also been added to give Crash the ability to quickly destroy opponents on the run without having to stop or lose momentum.
Fun classic, sequel improves on already good gameplayClassic PS1 game. The sequel to Crash Bandicoot is a huge improvement on the already great first game. There's more voicing acting, more cutscenes, more levels, and improved gameplay mechanics.
If you loved the first one, you'll love this one. Like the first game, the sequel is filled with unlockable game elements and plenty of secrets to uncover, adding a lot of replay value to the game.
You can have up to four save slots per memory card. Levels are fun and some are very challenging. The game is appropriate for all ages, though some of the later levels may be too difficult for younger kids.

I would also recommend this game if you enjoy the PS1 Spyro games.
